'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.' [Proverbs 3: 5 - 6] Most people reading this will have heard or read these 'proverbs' before. For many years they have been somewhere in my thoughts, sometimes more than others but often there. There is a lot we could say about them and everyone probably has a different thought depending on what glasses you are wearing but I want to just think about the second part now for a short while... '...and do not lean on your own understanding.' We hear a lot of requirements for our Christian life and walk. A lot of law. We pursue much in the way of 'understanding', dedicated study, Bible college, read loads of books, attend Bible study, spend a lot of time in contemplation of the word or the original. We work real hard on our 'trust' and we try real hard to do it 'with all (our) heart'....
